Classic Content: Man Wins Cockroach-Eating Contest, Dies

Here’s an old post from my Brain Farts blog, circa 2012. I used to love writing that stuff. Should I go back to it?

* * *

Mom always said not to eat giant cockroaches, even if you did have a chance to win a really big snake. Now I know why.

An idiot named Edward Archbold from West Palm Beach, Fla., did eat the giant cockroaches, did win a contest and got his snake — but shortly thereafter began vomiting and later died. So far, it’s unknown if eating the giant cockroaches actually did him in, but authorities do feel certain it wasn’t the bran flakes he ate for breakfast that did it.

C’mon, dude. If cockroaches were good food, Campbell’s would put them in soup. How badly did you really want that ball python, anyway? Geez.
