Gasthaus German Restaurant, which opened in 1993, abruptly announced last week that it will be closed indefinitely for dine-in service.

In a message posted to its blog and Facebook page, it was stated in-house dining was suspended “until further notice,” but that the restaurant will offer carry-out service Friday and Saturdaya, April 29-30, 5-7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, it was announced that carry-out service – except for desserts – had ended “due to the high demand.”

The restaurant has removed its hours of operation from its Facebook page, while promising “more updates soon.” Gasthaus’ Google profile still shows hours as being 5-7:30 on Fridays and Saturdays. This post will be updated.

The restaurant is owned by Michael and Annemarie Greipel and staffed by them and their children, serving authentic German cuisine, as well as German beers and wines, as well as Annemarie’s homemade desserts.
