Is Papalinos Pizza Coming Back?

Papalinos logo.jpg

Maybe we shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves, but did anyone notice that Papalinos NY Pizzeria, which was a fabled favorite in the Highlands for many years, changed its address on Facebook?

The address change was simply to “Washington Street.” Butchertown Pizza closed in 2019 … but that’s on Story Avenue, and became Hog Father Pizza. But I got a Facebook notification that Butchertown Pizza Hall’s account had changed its name … to Papalinos NY Pizzeria. When I clicked, I got an error message. Then I noticed the “Washington Street” address change.

And then I saw this message on Hog Father’s Facebook page: “We wanted to let everyone know that effective today we are temporarily closing due to issues outside of our control! We will miss you all greatly and want to thank you for the outpouring of support from the community and our guests! We look forward to serving you again soon!”

I’m not Batman, who is the world’s greatest detective, but should long-time Papalinos fans be feeling excited? We’ll see. I’ll add more as more info is available. (I can taste the basil already …)
