Join the 1978 Kentucky Wildcats at KOBBE Fundraiser Sept. 6

Back in the 1970s, plenty of kids in the Bluegrass State fell in love with Kentucky basketball — myself included. My favorites were Jack “Goose” Givens and Kyle Macy.

Those grown-up kids now have a chance to join KOBBE, Kentucky’s Original Black Bourbon Enthusiasts, and three members of the University of Kentucky 1978 National Champions — Macy, Rick Robey and Givens — at Studio 78, a nostalgic night of food and drink on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at the Black Rabbit.

The St. Matthews speakeasy will feature 1970s themed food and drink while celebrating Bourbon Heritage Month and community with this KOBBE fundraiser. The evening will include a complementary tasting of a special bourbon honoring the Kentucky 1978 NCAA National Championship Team: 78 Legends. This rare bourbon release produced only 1,978 bottles and costs $1,798 sold at Krogers across Kentucky

“I'm excited to help curate an evening that I think followers of KOBBE, and college basketball fans will both enjoy,” KOBBE founder Jamar Mack said.
