Louisville ranked 37th in a recent study of 2023’s Best Cities for Paranormal Activity, conducted by Lawn Love – and the city ranked especially high on the list for most haunted locations.

From the Seelbach Hotel and its “Lady in Blue” haunting to the Waverly Hills Sanitorium, which has long been a target of ghost-hunters, Louisville certainly has its share of haunted locations, which is why it placed No. 8 on the list out of 200 in that category.

Louisville also ranked No. 24 on the list for the number of paranormal-themed conventions and events combined with the number of paranormal societies and investigative organizations. In the Lifestyle category, which is defined by UFO-lover, witch and vampire “friendliness,” as well as a “zombie survival index,” Louisville ranked No. 87.

The only category in which the city didn’t fare well – at all – was Sightings Rank, which comprises the number of reported sightings of ghosts, paranormal activity, bigfoot and the overall odds of seeing a ghost in the state. (Here is the full methodology.)

So, if you’re hanging out with friends on Twilight Zone Day this year, May 11, you can arrive armed with some relevant knowledge.
