PARLOUR Pizza to Take Over Kitchen at Falls City Brewing Co.

PARLOUR Pizza apparently is in the process of taking over the kitchen at Falls City Brewing Co.’s taproom on Liberty Street. Employees were informed of the partnership last week via e-mail. (The e-mail was provided by a former taproom employee.)

Last summer, Falls City opened its own kitchen following the closure of former food partner Bandido Taqueria Mexicana. Bandido still operates three locations in Louisville and one in Lexington.

The brewery’s on-site menu included items like a barbecue sandwich, chicken tenders, quesadillas, wings and other pub grub. In an e-mail to employees last week, Jason Wade, Vice President of Strategic Operations for Neace Ventures, cited a lack of traction with the Falls City kitchen as the impetus for partnering with PARLOUR. Neace owns Falls City, Old 502 Wine and other businesses. PARLOUR Pizza operates five area locations in the Louisville area.

“In our brief period of operating Falls City Kitchen, we stretched and utilized our existing talents to produce great tasting menu items, however, we never caught traction with the greater community for increased dining opportunities,” Wade wrote. “With our core competencies in mind, the Near Year brings forward an opportunity to leverage our strategic brand partnership with PARLOUR Pizza to enhance operations, brand awareness and guest experience.”

While the Falls City kitchen closed as of last Tuesday, Taproom operations at the brewery and winery were to continue, Wade’s e-mail stated.

“Signage and other items will be displayed throughout the facility that unite our 3 powerful brands: PARLOUR Pizza, Falls City Beer & Old 502 Winery,” he wrote. “Our commitment is to make the finest quality Falls City Beer and Old 502 Wine possible.  We are more committed than ever to grow these brands and extend our reach to loyal customers and patrons.”

Falls City Brewing is located at 901 E. Liberty St., while Old 502 Winery is located at 915 E. Liberty.
