Back in April, well before my new book, This Used to Be Louisville, was published, the Louisville Free Public Library did a Q&A author spotlight with me. Thought I would share it here.

Before the Coronavirus came and ruined everything, one of my favorite meals in town was Hilltop Tavern’s chicken tacos. They went away. But Hilltop has launched a rotating weekly taco special, and the first round made for some mighty good eating on a recent weeknight.

The Old Louisville Holiday Home Tour will return this year, offering visitors a rare look around inside Victorian-era residences and historic buildings, fully decorated for the holidays.

Louisville Beer Week returns Oct. 22-29.

A few weeks back, I shared a new bourbon with a friend. His bourbon journey is still getting out of the gate, but mine is into probably the second furlong and I wanted to give his a boost.
What I wasn’t expecting was a story that would unfold afterward and, in an unexpected way, come full circle, in a profoundly personal and emotional way.

I shouldn’t have opened my mouth. While watching football recently with my friend Butch, we saw a commercial for the McRib sandwich, that unholy abomination on bread that is rolled out every so often by corporate chain McDonald’s in its relentless effort to kill us all.
