Atrium Brewing Announces it is Under New Ownership

Five years after opening its doors in Louisville’s Shelby Park neighborhood, Atrium Brewing is stepping into a new era. The brewery is now brewer-owned, led by longtime Atrium brewers Spencer Guy and Max Myers. The change marks a natural evolution for one of Louisville’s most recognizable breweries - one built on experimentation and a genuine love for beer.

As the national beer scene settles into a slower rhythm, Atrium’s new owners see opportunity. Guy and Myers plan to keep pushing boundaries, making beer that feels alive again; expressive, colorful, and connected to the city that shaped it.

Atrium will continue producing the same beers that locals and visitors have come to know and love, while introducing new releases developed by Guy and Myers. Both the Shelby Street taproom and the Norton Commons location will remain open and active during the transition.

“Atrium was built with a vision of curiosity and creativity,” said Spencer Guy, Head Brewer and Co-Owner. “We’re incredibly thankful to the previous ownership for bringing Atrium to life, for trusting us early on with the direction of the beer program, and now for giving us the opportunity to carry that legacy forward. Our goal is simple: to keep making the beers that represent who we are and the city we love.”

Atrium’s approach has always leaned toward curiosity. Under brewer ownership, that energy continues and will serve as a reminder that beer can still surprise, connect, and reflect the people behind it.

“In the five years since open(ing) it has been amazing to realize how far we've come and where we're at now and where things will be in another five years,” co-founder Mark Rubenstein (with Princeton Hurst) said on social media, adding, “It's a young man's game.”

He added, “The good news is that most of you will know the new owners. I have made hundreds of friends and even more memories in the last 8 years and I won't be saying goodbye to any of those. I know Atrium will be in the best of hands and I will be one of their biggest fans.”

Atrium Brewing’s original taproom and brewhouse is located at 1154 S. Shelby Street and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. For more information on their beers, food menu, and Norton Commons location, visit www.atriumbrewing.com

About Atrium Brewing

Founded in 2020 in the Shelby Park neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, Atrium Brewing quickly became known for its bold, boundary-pushing beers and welcoming taproom atmosphere. The brewery opened a taproom in Norton Commons in 2023, offering a diverse lineup of hazy IPAs, fruited sours, and clean lagers. Atrium continues to embody Louisville’s spirit of creativity.
