Monnik Announces Return of Dog Day of Summer Fundraiser

After a two-year hiatus, Monnik Beer Co. announced the return of its Dog Day of Summer fundraiser. Set for Saturday, Aug. 5, from 12-5 p.m., the event is once again set to take place in its Schnitzelberg taproom. This year’s event includes a collaboration with Louisville Ale Trail, introducing a special edition beer celebrating Louisville-area canines on an innovative label.

Showcasing nearly 20 local dogs, each square in the label’s collage translates to a $100 donation to the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS), turning this limited-edition beer into a tapestry of community giving. The collaboration hopes to raise awareness and significant funds for the essential work carried out by KHS.

"We are so excited that Monnik Beer Company and Louisville Ale Trail are hosting the Dog Day of Summer and creating a special beer label featuring adorable local dogs,” said Haley Aldridge, KHS Community Relations Manager. “Their support will help the Kentucky Humane Society find homes for shelter pets and keep families and pets together.”

Dog Day of Summer promises to be a fun-filled day for dogs and their owners. The event will feature outdoor pools, sprinklers, dog-forward vendors, and even a dog show. Categories include Waggiest Tail, Best Trick, Dog Most Like Its Owner, Best Outfit, Most Chillest, Fluffiest, Coolest Hair Do, and People's Choice Award. The dog show begins at 4 pm. Those interested can register with a $1 donation between 2-4pm.

All proceeds from the dog show and a portion of the beer sales will be donated to the Kentucky Humane Society and Project K-9 Hero. Additionally, KHS will be on-site with dogs available for adoption and will be accepting direct donations.
